This class is a continuation of 101. You will be learning new techniques to complete a garment of your choice. Zippers, buttonholes, collars, interfacings and hems just to name a few. Bring your existing skills and discover new ones!

Adult Beginning Sewing

In this four-session sewing class, you will learn basic sewing skills: sewing straight and curved seams, purchasing notions, reading a pattern, learning about fabrics, doing step-by-step pattern layout and cutting. We will go through the whole process of constructing a garment. Nancy will contact each student to discuss additional supplies. Prerequisite: You must be able to thread the machine and wind a bobbin properly.

I have a ton of stitch out samples to show the good, bad, and ugly from tear away, cut away, wash away, and many other stabilizers.

Sewing Techniques for Accessories

Have you always wanted to sew a handbag, scarf, gloves or hat? In this class techniques for zippers, straps and more will be introduced. Types of fabrics and applications in stabilizers will be discussed. For your project you may pick a pattern of your choosing. I will guide you through the construction process. Beginning Quilting w/ Myrtle Eddens

Sign up for this class and join in the quilting excitement. In this class you will learn skills and techniques to put together a 4-block wall hanging. You will learn free motion embroidery and different ways to "quilt" your project. We will go over rotary cutting, piecing, constructing 1/4" seams, proper pressing procedures, making bias bindings and sewing mitered corners as well as other related quilting methods. We will use Alex Anderson's "Start Quilting" as a reference for the class. Myrtle will contact each student prior to class.
