Let's Give!

Have you spring cleaned your fabric stash and wondered what to do with that extra fabric? Don't know if you will use it? How about donating to our charity event, "LET'S GIVE" Our customers are very Talented, Creative, Caring and Giving. We invite you to come and be a part of Montavilla Sewing Centers, charity event. The benefactor of this endeavor is: "My Fathers House". Our desire is to create custom, one of a kind, pillow cases and donate them to these very special organizations. For this event to be successful, we are reaching out to you and asking that you donate quality fabric in any quantity, but at least 1/4 yard increment. Please have them laundered and pressed and donated to us from now until May 25th. In addition, you are cordially invited to participate in the creative process of making them! "Let's Give" our time in making pillow cases. This will consist of: * Volunteers : before, during,& after. * Fabric sorters * Fabric cutters * Bringing your own sewing machine or sergers * Ironers or pressers * Fabric coordinators (those with an eye to create the style) * Assemblers for all phases of the project Thread and needles will be provided for your sewing machine or serger. Come and donate your time: as little or as much as your schedule allows. There will be multiple working stations from idea creation to project completion. As we have had a very positive response to this project in its early stages, we ask you, so that we can be efficient in our planning for this upcoming event, that when you sign up, ...along with your Name, When you think you may be participating. As there are many anticipated volunteers, we also have received inquiries of varying times of day to participate. So if you know when you would like to join us, please state whether it is AM, Late AM, Early PM, PM, All Day, etc. Lunch, Snacks, & Refreshments will be provided.

Pfaff Feet, Feet, and More! (Morning)

Spend a half day of pure fascination watching a trunk show with Pfaff specialist Kevin Conley as he shows you all the amazing techniques that can be accomplished with your Pfaff presser feet. Kevin has a theory about life and sewing . . . keep it fun, keep it interesting, keep it creative, and reach your potential. This comes from a lifetime of multi-faceted interests at which he excelled, not the least of which is his ability to connect with people, especially sewers at SVP events. His over 40 years in the sewing industry include sewing, quilting, embroidery and crafts, as well as regional management of 21 stores, merchandise management, management training, writing training manuals and customer service instruction. Kevin engages consumers with his humor and easy, yet professional style in leading events. He loves to share valuable information, tips and techniques. The event will be held at 9:30 am and 2pm, so sign up for the time that works best for you. Though admission is $10, all attendees will receive a $10 in-store credit at Montavilla Sewing Centers!

Trunk show with Sharon Hawkins

Sharon Hawkins is a customer of ours that has been making doll dresses and repurposing techniques in articles. What she comes up with is astounding! If you would like a chance to see her trunk show to get ideas on these techniques, then you don't want to miss this. This will be a one hour long, idea packed, camera/phone shooting, time of your life event. She will not be sharing HOW to do these techniques during this trunk show because she would like to save these special "how to's" for her class.However, you can grab your camera or phone and take pictures to try these ideas yourself at home. If you are like me and need some helpful tips on how to accomplish these ideas, then you might want to sign up for these future classes, be looking for them under her name "Sharon Hawkins".
