Embroidered Rope Baskets
Learn secrets on how to sew through cotton cording and how to adjust your machine for a perfect stitch, then embroidering on the bottom of the basket to make a perfect gift. Lots of tips and different ideas to make each one unique. All you need is cotton clothesline and a simple design to download on your machine. You will be hooked on how fun it is.
Supply List
- 7/32″ or 1/4″ Cotton Clothesline (at Fred Meyer or Walmart)
- 90/14 Topstitch needle or sharp needle
- Open toe or clear sewing foot
- Embroidery Foot and embroidery unit
- 150 x 240 hoop or 200 x 200 hoop (make sure design will fit in hoop)
- Embroidery threads (colors of your design) and prefilled embroidery bobbin
- White or off-white regular sewing thread and bobbin to match to match basket
- Tear-away sticky stabilizer
- Straight pins or Wonderclips
- Embroidery design, use water-color designs, redwork or line work designs, no super dense designs and not larger than 5” – 6” (my design is from Embroidery Library)
- Have design loaded on your machine

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
