Fast & Scrappy 9-Patch Blocks

9-Patch blocks are among the simplest of block patterns to make. Originally pieced from individually cut squares, many quilters now prefer to strip piece these blocks for speed and convenience. This yields a lot of identically colored blocks but what if you want to go scrappy? In this class, I will show you a nifty method of making fast-patch scrappy blocks where each block is different from the others without the fuss of piecing fussy little squares. The class will also cover a piecing strategy that will help you piece long rows of 9-patch blocks for borders and fields of blocks accurately. No more sewing pieced bands of blocks that come out at different lengths. Please note the sample shows scrappy 9-Patch blocks used as borders and does not represent the class project, students will focus on the fast patch technique of making blocks and piecing them accurately into rows and fields.

Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
