Quilted medallions have long been a design of preference for quilt blocks and are particularly lovely featured in plain fabric blocks used to offset pieced/appliqued blocks; they are also beautiful as focal points in the center of pieced block patterns. Whether you are making them into potholders, mug-rugs, or applying them to blocks in larger quilts, Mandalas make a wonderful meditative project. In this class you will learn a variety of techniques from improvisational stitching to using templates to create beautiful Mandala designs and stitch them onto small layered squares. For those who aren’t sure they can tackle designing their own Mandala, there will be a handout with several design that can be traced or you can opt to purchase patterns printed on water soluble stabilizer from the instructor for a nominal fee. This class is suited for confident beginners who already have some basic experience with free-motion quilting.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
