T-Shirt Construction

Starting with a basic T-Shirt pattern, customize fit, mix & match design features to create your perfect T-Shirt for yourself or someone else. In this class, choose between SEW HOUSE SEVEN Tabor V-Neck or Skyline Tee pattern. Choose to make one version of your choice in class (see supply list for other available pattern choices). Jayne will teach you how to make this T-Shirt with or without the use of a Serger. Bring your sewing machine in good working order or use a classroom model. Begin with the cutting layout, learn to apply knit sewing techniques; use sewing machine stitches to replicate the commercial serged seam, use a twin needle on your sewing machine to topstitch or use a store Serger/Coverstitch to finish & stabilize raw edges and topstitch.
Sewing Ability: Intermediate and/or has completed “Beginning Sewing 1 w/Jayne” class.
Tabor V-Neck: Loose fit, drop shoulder and various necklines and body lengths. The oversized body width is most compatible with lightweight knits with at least 25% stretch. 5 versions feature two neck options, a deep V-neck or a mitered neckband. Three hem options, curved, straight and split with vented sides. Sleeves can be sleeveless, banded or long.

Skyline Tee: A classic body skimming tee that includes five different necklines, four different sleeve options, and two hem lengths, all interchangeable.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
