Toaster Sweaters

Cozy sweater season is just around the corner so why not make a Toaster Sweater? This class (two 4-hour sessions) offers 2 different Toaster Sweater versions in one SEW HOUSE SEVEN pattern. Choose to make one version of your choice in class. Jayne will teach you how to make this sweater with or without the use of a Serger. Bring your sewing machine in good working order or use a classroom model. Learn to apply knit sewing techniques; use sewing machine stitches to replicate the commercial serged seam, use a twin needle on your sewing machine to topstitch or use a store Serger/Coverstitch to finish & stabilize raw edges and topstitch.
Version #1: A high neck, loose T, raglan sleeve cropped sweater with a wide waistband and wide cuffs. Topstitching is optional. See Supply List for sizing & yardage.
Version #2: A semi-high neck sweater with a self-faced mini funnel neck. Fitted through the shoulders and sleeves and fuller through the body. It features a hi-low hem and side vents (the back hem is 1” lower than the front hem). See Supply List for sizing & yardage.
The Toaster Sweaters Pattern is not included in the class fee but available for purchase at Montavilla Sewing Centers. 15% class participant discount can be used to purchase pattern. Click below for the Supply List.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
