Beginning Quilting - Town Square Quilt

This is a class for beginning quilters who want to practice their skills in a classroom setting. This is an easy and satisfying pattern, using only 3 yards of fabric. In the first session we'll review the pattern and cutting instructions, practice sewing a consistent quarter-inch seam, then cut fabric. We'll sew at least one block, so students can continue at home. In session two, bring your completed quilt top and we'll put on the borders and review how to prepare the quilt sandwich and methods of basting, quilting and binding.
If you want to cut out your fabric before class, that's OK. There is time allowed during class to cut some blocks and start sewing them together. I do not recommend pre-washing your fabric as the yardage is tight. If you prefer to wash your fabric prior to class, buy ¼ yard extra of each fabric.
Please bring your sewing machine in perfect working condition and be familiar with its functions; threading, winding and changing the bobbin and needle.

Class, club, and event fees are nonrefundable. You must cancel 72 hours before the first session of the class, club, or event to receive store credit or apply the fee to another class, club or event. However, if the instructor or Montavilla Sewing Centers has to cancel a class, club, or event, you have the option for a store credit or full refund. Students must bring their own machines to all classes, unless otherwise noted. We request that you do not bring children or guests to the classes. Thank you!
