The categories below, including modern quilting fabric and sewing fabrics, offer a taste of what we offer. Our staff is happy to help you coordinate the perfect fabrics for your next project.

Quilting Cottons
High-quality quilting cottons are the mainstay of our Lake Oswego store. We also feature kits, precuts, and wide-back fabric. We stock a wide variety of modern quilting fabrics, contemporary patterns, and blender fabrics from manufacturers including Andover, Benartex, Clothworks, In The Beginning, Maywood, Moda, P&B Textiles, and Windham.
Kimberbell
Montavilla Sewing is proud to offer the full line of Kimberbell Basics cotton fabrics at our Lake Oswego, Portland, and Gresham stores. Our Lake Oswego store also stocks Kimberbell seasonal collections and some Kimberbell 108” wide quilt back fabric, as well as selected kits.
Cotton Flannel
Soft cotton flannels are perfect for snuggly baby blankets and cozy quilts. Our Lake Oswego sewing machine and fabric store carries a wide variety from manufacturers, such as Maywood, Riley Blake, and Henry Glass.
Fashion Fabrics
Our Lake Oswego store has a growing collection of fabrics appropriate for garments and other projects. We carry a sampling of rayon, cotton/linen blend, cotton knit, Minky, and Sea Wool (made from recycled bottles and oyster shells).
Cotton Batiks
Batiks are great for quilts and many other projects. The wax resist process used to create them results in beautiful multi-color effects that look the same on both sides of the fabric. We carry batiks at both our Lake Oswego and Gresham sewing machines and fabric stores.
Foundations
Does your sewing project need extra body or stabilization? In addition to embroidery stabilizers at all our stores, our Lake Oswego store stocks woven and non-woven fusible interfacing, knit interfacing, fusible fleece, and more.

Quilts of Valor
The Quilts of Valor Foundation is a non-profit whose mission is to cover U.S. service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. With local chapters all over the U.S., Quilts of Valor volunteers donate fabric or help create quilts to present to veterans of all ages. Montavilla is proud to host the Portland, OR chapter, the largest in the U.S., with monthly meetings at our Portland, Beaverton, and Gresham locations. Cares Northwest
Child Abuse Response and Evaluation Services (CARES) Northwest is a collaborative, community-based medical program. CARES Northwest’s mission is to stop child abuse and neglect through multidisciplinary prevention, medical evaluation, and ongoing treatment in partnership with our community. We host a monthly Cares NW quilting group at our Lake Oswego location, in which anyone can stop by and help make quilts to donate to Cares NW.
